Endoscopic Dacryo Rhino Cystectomy

During an endoscopic DCR, the sinus surgeon works together with the eye surgeon to bypass the tear duct by creating a new opening directly from the lacrimal sac to your nasal cavity. Going through the nasal passage under endoscopic vision, the sinus surgeon creates an opening in the bone that overlies the lacrimal sac.

In other words, the patient must be asymptomatic and the lacrimal system must be patent, which is confirmed by nasal endoscopy (a positive fluorescein test). The mean success rate according to the criteria above in expert hands is higher than 90%-95% in primary cases of anatomical obstruction.
